Aside from undergoing extreme case of health concerns, losing great amount of hair really affects a cancer patient’s confidence level. One contributing factor for the hair loss is the chemotherapy session, a valuable anti-cancer treatment. But why do cancer patients lose their hair anyway during chemotherapy?

Hair loss during chemotherapy would almost definitely happen to any cancer patient, regardless of what gender they belong to. Men and women will become partially or wholly bald during chemotherapy depending on what type and intensity of chemotherapy drugs the patient has to consume under guidance of the doctor. These chemotherapy drugs are very potent substances designed to target the rapidly growing cancer cells within the body of the cancer patient. Unfortunately, these same life-saving drugs also affect your hair roots, thus causing hair strands to fall out.

Technically speaking, this is an alopecia category. However, the hair loss results of undergoing chemotherapy sessions cannot be compared greatly from the alopecia caused by testosterone build-up in the hair roots. Since chemotherapy sessions for each patient differs from that of other patients, it’s important to understand that there may have one cancer patient consuming mild anti-cancer drugs which only thin out his hair volume while another cancer patient who is consuming pretty strong anti-cancer drugs will be severely distressed by the clumps of hair that will be falling out on a daily basis.

The prospect of losing all the hair on one’s head can be said to be more distressing for female patients to accept than for men. The reason is that the ingrained belief that it is okay for men to go bald, sometimes even desirable, while women without hair tend to look ugly. Some women are gifted with a great bone structure so that even when they go bald they still look pretty good anyway, but unfortunately for most women, hair seems to be a necessary part of their self image, a good symbol of beauty. If you have always been told all your life how nice your hair looks and you lose that hair, imagine what kind of a blow to your self image that would be.

The good news is that hair loss from chemotherapy need not be a permanent thing. Chemotherapy will last for a certain period. While under the battle of cancer, patient’s hair loss would soon stop and a start of hair reborn would initiate when your body has recuperated from its healing tendencies. There may be some difference between the new hair that starts to grow and your previous type of hair, but at least it is still hair. You will then have to wait for the doctor to determine whether the chemotherapy was successful and if you need to undergo more chemotherapy afterwards.

Currently, there were yet proven ways to stop hair loss from occurring during chemotherapy. If losing your hair bothers you a lot, you can always get a really nice wig that goes well with your face and body type. Or you can simply wrap your head in a pretty bandana and top that off with a nice sunhat. These are simple ways to assure that other people will not snicker at you for being bald. If you feel shy about being with other people because of your bald head, you may want to go out in the company of people who can provide you moral support then. In fact, all cancer patients require the support of kind people to be able to get through their situation, even when they are not under chemotherapy.

As we all have knowledge of in today’s world there are numerous causes out there for the condition hair loss whether it is hereditary or some kind of underlying health condition or the over treatment of hair. The thing is by far one of the worst ways to lose your hair is through what is called more or less cancer hair loss. This usually happens or occurs when a person is dealing with a certain type of cancer and undergoes evident amount baldness on their head.
The real spin on this type of hair loss that comes as result of cancer is because the chemotherapy those cancer patients usually have to attend as a form of treatment for the disease. Chemotherapy basically is the use of drugs and/or medication along with radiation in the case of cancer to cure disease destroying cancer cells that have spread to parts of the body far away from the primary (original) tumor. The radiation however is very powerful and most times result in damaging the hair shaft at root of the scalp and causes baldness.
What should not be forgotten or mistaken is that the medication taken can also result in hair loss. That is the main reason why before starting a medication plan you should gain awareness of the drugs and the side effects of such by sitting down and having a one on one with your doctor.
What should be expected?
As it is related to cancer hair loss, it is of utmost importance to the patient him/herself to realize and have knowledge of what is to be expected and be ready for what is to come. Really and truly when you think of it you might take your hair granted that is has always been there and will always be there, unless of course that hair loss runs in your family, you might realize the importance of it to you until there is a pending threat that you will lose it. What you have to know is, if you have cancer and you are to undergo chemotherapy then hair loss is a very big possibility, probably a define one.
This is not to say your hair will fall out as a result because this is not always the case. The hair loss is really dependent on you the person, especially in the case of your hair type and also how far along your cancer is.
Is this Avoidable?
Is it? Think about it, cancer hair is really inevitable no matter how you look at it, unless of course you decide that your hair is to important and you pass up the chemotherapy and as such voluntarily put your life at risk. Now really is there even a minute comparison here, really even a choice, now think, your life or your hair, your life or your hair, are you getting the gist. The thing is the lost will eventually grow back anyway after the treatment is finished.
What you really should know hair loss unfortunately is not the only side that results for chemotherapy, there are also symptoms such as fatigue, loss of appetite; diarrhea, constipation, and nausea are also often experienced.
Though cancer hair loss is one the hardest types of hair loss to deal with because of the lack of options in treatment resulting from the interim where you taking the chemo medication, you can talk to your doctor if you do have a hair loss. This way he/she can along with properly assess your condition and find a way to deal with it and find a treatment plan that would work for you.

Rosemary and sage are two herbs that have shown benefit traditionally when used externally. Boil together in water rosemary, sage, peach leaf, nettle and burdock. Then strain the loose herbs from the liquid and use the liquid to wash the hair daily. One of the best home remedies for treating hair loss is to massage your scalp with fingers gently. It will also aid in increasing blood circulation and lend glow to your hair.Apple cider vinegar is known to provide a lot of health benefits. It is not surprising that many people believe that it in itself is a hair loss remedy. All that you need to do is warm up a little bit apple cider vinegar. Apply it to your scalp for one hour before you plan to wash your hair. It is said that you will notice less excessive hair loss after continuing this natural home remedy for hair loss on a regular basis. After you shampoo your hair, use the following tonic: take half cup milk; add to this a tablespoon of cream. Beat it up. Apply on the scalp, hair strands and hair ends. Leave it on for 15 mintues. Rinse and wash well with water. This helps to get rid of split end.Two tablespoons of any warm oil (coconut, mustard, olive, sesame seed), to which ingredients like crushed pepper, garlic and herbs are added, can be used as a nutritious massage concoction for your scalp. The oil should be gently massaged by the fingertips in gentle, circular movements, until it is absorbed. This enhances circulation and also has a therapeutic effect. You can cover the scalp with a damp, warm towel, for a hot-turban therapy which makes the follicles absorb the nutrients better. Wash it off after an hour but not with a shampoo. Use a paste of either chickpea/gram flour or the powder of soap-nut (Reetha in Hindi) seeds. Neither of these takes the greasiness away entirely, but it makes the hair stronger and longer. Add 6-8 drops of lemon juice to an egg. Beat well and apply on your hair followed by washing with a herbal shampoo.Using coconut milk for improving hair growth is another simple home remedy for hair loss that some claim to offer results. Grind coconut shavings and press them tightly to get the extract, the coconut milk. Apply this liquid all over your scalp with fingers and give your scalp a deep massage so that the coconut milk reaches the roots of your hair. It serves to nourish the hair and promote the growth of new hair. In addition, it keeps the existing hair in a healthy condition.Amla oil is considered very useful in treating hair loss. Mix equal quantity of fresh amla juice and lime juice and use this as a hair shampoo. It prevents baldness.

Hair loss is considered to be a dreadful condition among all kinds of people. The main cause for hair loss varies from heredity to nutritional deficiency. Other factors that can increase hair loss are stress, drug abuse or alcohol abuse, diet and scalp disorders. At first thinning of hair is noticed in the crown, which is a normal process of ageing.
To improve one’s hair, a lot of people now rely on laser treatment. Laser treatment is used in many places to improve the appearance of hair. Most people suffering from hair loss are pleased by the results of laser treatment.
Although laser treatment for hair loss is available in many areas, the dermatologists are still in dilemma whether it is safe or not. Laser treatment for hair loss is generally performed in exclusive hair clinics. In these clinics they are having large laser devices, which require at least some sittings per month. Hence the use of laser treatment for hair loss is questionable.
Hair transplantation can be performed if the laser treatment for hair loss does not show results. In the male pattern baldness, hair transplantation can be performed. Hair loss due to accidents and operations can also be transplanted.
In order to reduce the cost of laser treatment for hair loss, a modern comb called laser comb is used to treat the hair loss condition. The main advantage of laser comb is that it saves money on laser treatments. Laser comb is the modified laser treatment for hair loss. This is the home version and low expense product when compared to Cosmetic Laser Devices.
The laser treatment in hair clinics may cost hundreds of dollars for one sitting. But Laser comb is not expensive and approved by FDA as a cosmetic device for thickening hair appearance. Laser comb can be used as a laser treatment for hair loss in combination with a normal treatment regimen.
Although laser comb is approved by the FDA for the purpose of hair thickening, now the FDA is conducting numerous trials giving approval for hair growth stimulation. Laser light therapy is being used for anti inflammatory effects and wound healing on the skin.
Laser comb utilizes low level laser therapy (LLLT), which emits photo energy. Low-level laser treatment of hair loss is painless and non-toxic.
By using laser comb, you can achieve healthier, fuller, thicker hair. Normally men can’t take their eyes off you, but now women won’t!

Our culture is often quiet on the subject of female hair loss as there are so many jokes and commercials about baldness among man. Moreover, female hair loss is not a social acceptable condition as like that of men. One out of every five females is having thinning hair, but none of them knows the subject of female hair loss. It is really shocking to hear that.
The most common cause of hair loss in women is androgenetic alopecia.. In case your father, grandmother, or mother is suffering from hair loss, there is a possibility that you will have to deal with hair loss too. Apart from this, other predisposing factors causing female hair loss are severe stress, illness that includes special diet and medication (chemotherapy). It is also known that medication for diabetics might cause female hair loss.
It is very important that if you are a female suffering from hair loss, you should not panic immediately after noticing the hair loss because panicking will worsen the condition. If you are going to lose your hair, you are not loosing your friends and also your job.
Don’t feel alone; don’t lose hope there are 30 million other women suffering from female hair loss throughout the world. Don’t lose your confidence and also be aware that you are not less beautiful than before! There are so many nice people in the world who will support you and you will also find a man that will look past your thinnning hair.
There are numerous options available on the market to deal with female hair loss. One among them is Rogaine. This product is one of the most popular medications for male baldness. It can also be used by females.
It will cost you not more than $50 per month. This product has been widely used by women for female hair loss and has been found to slow down and, in some cases, even revert hair loss.
Some doctors prefer to prescribe treatments of estrogen for female hair loss. There is no proven research to confirm that lack of estrogen causes female hair loss.
Female hair loss pattern is entirely different from that of men. Instead of experiencing total hair loss, the female hair loss condition usually has small hair less patches and hair in this areas is getting thinner and thinner.
Some women experience female hair loss immediately after parturition. In such case, the condition will get resolved once they have stopped nursing of their baby.

Every one of us loses 100-150 hairs a day in the natural cycle of hair growth and death. And there’re several ways to prevent hair loss from occurring. Provillus is a supplement built to block the DHT(Dihydrotestoterone) in the body. The majority of products on the market make use of a variety of chemicals that can have harmful side effects and actually cause damage to your hair and scalp. Provillus contains compound ingredients such as, biotin, gotu kola, magnesium stearatern Muria Puania, pumpkin extract, Saw Palmetto, silicon dioxide, vitamin B6, and zinc. These compound ingredients help prevent thinning hair follicles form becoming thinner-leading to baldness. The nourishing blend of nutrients in Provillus helps the hair become thick. Provillus hair loss treatment is FDA-approved. No prescription is needed because it is stored as a supplement; therefore, it can be bought from over-the-counter from a local drug store.Provillus was created by the Ultra Herbal Company. It is a natural treatment for men and women suffering from hair loss, also known as Androgenetic alopecia.

With men hair loss is caused by hormone testosterone. When DHT(Dihydrotestoterone) enters the body the hair follicles thins and cuts off the blood flow in the body. The more DHT in the body the more the man is at risk of experiencing baldness. In the United Stated two out of eight women experience hair loss. There is no pattern for hair loss in women. Few women experience hair loss at a young age, but it mostly occurs in older women. Unbalanced hormones, thyroid disease, and menopause are common risk factors of hair loss in women. Child birth is also a common risk factor for hair loss in women. However, hair loss in women is far more harder to deal with than for men experiencing hair loss. An effective cure for men and women who experience hair loss is Provillus. Not only will Provillus prevent hair loss from happening-it will also regrow the hair. The topical ingredients in Provillus are FDA-approved and guaranteed to get hair back to being strong and healthy.

Do you find that although you used to be the hottest guy back in high school who got all the girls, now, ten years later, you have lost all your confidence? If this is the case, perhaps you could be suffering from the same problem as many guys, and that problem is hair loss. You become the butt of jokes by your friends or even worse, by strangers. Suddenly, you are not considered to be hot anymore. People think you are aging and past it. These are just some of the effects of losing your hair. Hair loss can be due to a number of factors, but one of the most common in men is male pattern baldness. Male pattern baldness, as the name suggests, predominantly affects men, but women with the genetic predisposition can be affected also. Additionally, there are lots of other reasons why both men and women might lose their hair.
One factor that can cause hair loss is stress. When you are under stress, the body releases chemicals that can affect your body in adverse ways, altering the delicate balance of hormones. There is one condition that is known as telogen effluvium, which affects people who have been sick or subject to stress. When you become really stressed out, your hair follicles stop growing and functioning. It is as if they are taking a rest during a time of stress. The only way to stop this is by finding a way to end the period of stress that you are going through, and making sure that you become fully relaxed. You should also be aware of the fact that your disposition in life affects the way your hair grows and looks. Both stress and a difficult lifestyle bring about hair loss, while maintaining a happy outlook will enable your hair to become shinier and healthier. If you think this sounds like a shampoo commercial, just try it and feel the effects!
There are also infections which may cause hair loss, especially for children. You will need to be careful with the medicines you take, or the treatments you get, because they may also bring about hair fall.
Hair loss may also be a sign that you have a sickness that you were not aware of. It could be lupus or diabetes, or a number of other illnesses. If you do find that you are experiencing hair loss, and you also feel that your health is not that good either, it might be an idea to see your doctor and have a check up.
Another reason for hair loss is when your hormones are imbalanced. If your thyroid gland becomes either under- or over-active, this can be a reason for hair loss. Other possibilities are an imbalance of androgens and estrogens.
Other factors that might be causing you to lose your hair are use of the wrong hair products, or excessive styling of the hair with too much brushing and combing that may irritate the scalp and cause hair fall. Aging is also a factor – as you grow older, you lose more active hair follicles.
Finally, another cause of hair loss is heredity. Look at your parents and other older members of your family. Are most of them bald or balding even if they are relatively young? If this is the case, then you may also be facing hair loss in the future. You might even be facing it now. Even if nobody in your family has hair loss problems, you could still have a vulnerability to it.
In any case, do not fret – there are a number of treatments for hair loss. For mild hair loss, there are treatments you can try yourself, and for more severe cases there are treatments that you can seek from the medical profession and other experts.

Propecia (generic name Finasteride) is a powerful drug used for the treatment of men hair loss to increase hair growth and prevent further hair loss. Propecia is a prescription medication and is to be taken orally by men only. Propecia is not licensed for use in women.

Propecia:

Propecia is used for treating male pattern baldness on the vertex (at the top of the head) and the anterior mid-scalp area. Male pattern baldness is a common condition in which men experience thinning of the hair on the scalp which often results in a receding hairline and/or balding on the top of the head. Propecia is licensed for use by men only and should not be used by women or children.

Propecia is developed by Merck pharmaceutical company. The drug is available in tablet form of 1mg dosage strength for men hair loss. You can buy Propecia online or from a pharmacist on prescription only.

About Hair Loss:

Losing up to 100 hairs daily is considered normal as these get replaced by new hair naturally. Hair loss process starts if the rate of hair fall increases at an alarming rate. Moreover, if the new hairs that replace the old one come slowly or are thin, it may be onset of hair loss. Male pattern hair loss (male pattern baldness) is the most common cause of hair loss but there could be some other reason behind your hair loss. Discuss your particular hair loss with your doctor before you buy Propecia or begin any other hair loss treatment.

Propecia as Men Hair Loss Treatment Medicine:

Propecia has been studied in several tests including a 5 year clinical study to understand its effectiveness in treating men hair loss. The study produced following results:

The active ingredient in Propecia is finasteride which belongs to a group of medicines known as 5 alpha-reductase inhibitors. Finasteride prevents the enzyme 5 alpha-reductase from converting testosterone to its active form DHT (dihydrotestosterone) in the body. DHT plays a major role in inherited male pattern baldness (androgenic alopecia). By preventing the production of DHT, finasteride can stimulate hair growth in many men with mild to moderate inherited male pattern baldness.

Propecia Dosages:

Propecia (finasteride) is available in 1 mg dosage strength as the standard dosage strength for men hair loss is 1mg Propecia tablet a day. Do not exceed or lower the dose unless your doctor tells you to do so. Please note that taking double dose or increasing Propecia dosage will not yield better results. Taking double dose of finasteride (propecia), may cause you side effects.

Always remember to take the dose same time everyday for best results. Finasteride can be taken without regards to food, if however, you experience stomach problems, take Propecia finasteride with food. In any case, follow your doctor’s instructions.

If you miss a dose of Propecia medicine, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double dose to avoid side effects.

Propecia Side Effects:

Like any other prescription medicine, Propecia too has certain side effects. However, in clinical studies Propecia has shown very few side effects that too very rarely and did not affect most men.

In clinical studies for Propecia, a small number of men experienced certain sexual side effects, such as less desire for sex, difficulty in achieving an erection, or a decrease in the amount of semen. Each of these side effects occurred in less than 2% of men and went away in men who stopped taking Propecia because of them.

Some other mild and less serious side effects of Propecia include allergic reactions including rash, itching, hives, and swelling of the lips and face, problems with ejaculation, breast tenderness and enlargement, and testicular pain. However, you should report to your doctor if any of these side effects are persistent or bothersome. It is recommended that you should promptly report to your doctor any changes in your breasts such as lumps, pain, or nipple discharge.

About Propecia – its manufacturer

Finasteride (Propecia) is a prescription medicine that has been licensed for the treatment of male pattern baldness, medically known as androgenetic alopecia. Dev eloped by Merck & Co., Inc., Finasteride works by blocking the conversion of testosterone into DHT (dihydrotestosterone), which decreases the amount of DHT in the body. Since DHT is important for male pattern baldness, using Finasteride to decrease DHT levels can help stop hair loss and re-grow hair.

Finasteride is a competitive and specific inhibitor of Type II 5a-reductase, an intracellular enzyme that converts the androgen testosterone into DHT. Two distinct isozymes are found in mice, rats, monkeys, and humans: Type I and II. Each of these isozymes is differentially expressed in tissues as well as in developmental stages. In humans, Type I 5a-reductase is predominant in the sebaceous glands of most regions of skin, including scalp, and liver. Type I 5a-reductase is responsible for approximately one-third of circulating DHT. The Type II 5a-reductase isozyme is primarily found in prostate, seminal vesicles, epididymides, and hair follicles as well as liver, and is responsible for two-thirds of circulating DHT.

Propecia for hair re-growth

While Propecia is not a cure for hair loss, it is effective in stopping hair loss and re-growing hair on the top and front of the head. This treatment for hair loss and hair re-growth has shown great results. The success rate of Propecia is 90% and many men worldwide take Propecia to stop their hair loss and hair re-growth. It is not a magic pill but a medication, which was originally developed for prostate cancer. However, a rare side effect of this medication was growth in visible hair and hence a low dosage form of Finasteride (active ingredient of Propecia) was set under trials for hair loss.

This medication was easily approved for hair loss as there are not many side effects and it has a high success rate. But, one point to note is that the stopping of Propecia can result in losing any hair that has been re-grown. The drug needs to be taken indefinitely to maintain the hair growth and density

Who can buy and can’t buy Propecia

Propecia Finasteride can be taken by almost all men above 18 years of age as it is safe for almost everyone. People who can take Propecia are:

However, men who want a child or are planning to have one should avoid Finasteride. It is always better to consult a doctor and find out if Propecia is a safe hair loss drug for you or not. Women in particular and men with certain medical ailments are not advised to take the Propecia hair loss drug. You cannot take Propecia if you have diseases like:

Propecia Finasteride is for the treatment of male pattern hair loss in men only and women or children should not take it. In fact, pregnant women should not even handle crushed or broken Propecia tablets.

In addition, people on certain drugs must not take Propecia as it is known to interact with drugs like:

Online availability of Propecia

Propecia is easily available online and this has given the power to the internet surfers to choose a genuine online pharmacy of their choice. In order to buy Propecia, all you need to do is simply place an order with any online pharmacy after filling in your correct personal details in a questionnaire. After which you will be provided a free consultation by an online licensed doctor. Once he has established your credentials, you will promptly get a prescription after which your Propecia tablets will be dispatched to your address. All this will be done without your having to as much as step out of your house. Cheap and convenient, you have to beware of fraudulent online pharmacies who might sell generic non-approved drugs that could pose a danger to your health. Your safety is of prime importance.

Side effects of Propecia

Clinical trials produced the following statistics for Propecia side effects:

To put these figures into perspective, when monitoring Propecia side effects, 3.8% experienced some kind of sexual dysfunction while 2.1% of the men using a placebo pill also experienced the same problems.

Additionally, these side effects were reversible in the men who discontinued taking Propecia and within some weeks the side effects disappeared completely.

As Propecia affects hormone levels some men experienced tenderness in the breast. However, this was a small number and no more than those who used the placebo.

While the figures given above may not seem significant and in view of the fact that the Propecia side effects are reversible if the drug is discontinued it may appear that there is little cause for concern.
